I’m making a series of fun postcards, the first of which is “Support Your Local Murder,” featuring my monochrome watercolor of an American Crow. Admittedly, I’m not the first person to use the phrase “support your local murder” with a picture of a crow. You can find stickers, pins, and whatnot featuring this meme all over the Internet. But I painted the crow for my postcards.

These days, finding something in your mailbox that is not junk mail (or a wasp nest — that happened to me!) is fun. And a postcard is perfect for a short note just to surprise a friend or relative. No room to write a lot, so you don’t need to have much to say — after all, the picture says it all!
