Not Peking duck, though these birds are often raised for meat, this is the American or White Pekin. A domestic duck derived from birds brought to the US from China in the late 1800s/early 1900s, where mallards had been domesticated and bred over hundreds, if not thousands, of years. At one time my mother kept a few of these as pets. You probably won’t see them in the wild but they are now bred in many places all over the world, including this area. Watercolor, 5.5×8.5”.
